Her Hair

I tried to make children's tale this time. I really want to make the illustration for this tory, but well.... my spirit to draw is not as strong as the spirit to write and read... So, if you want to make the illustration for this story or if you know someone who likes to make illustrations for free, I would love to see it. Her Hair

There was a girl with very long loooooong hair. No! She’s not Rapunzel, her name was Ariana. Not like Rapunzel who famous with her long beautiful blonde hair, Ariana’s was total black and curly. Her hair gave her trouble so many times. Like one morning when she was washing the dishes, she felt itchy on her head, she wanted to scratch it, but her hands was full of soap. The longer she resisted the itches the more horrible it felt. There was nothing she could do but scratched her head to the wall. Scratch, scratch!! It was very itchy. After scratching her head to the wall, the itches was gone, but when she wanted to continue washing the dishes, her hair stuck into the spider web on the wall. ARRRRRGH!! She shook her head left and right left and right, until she felt dizzy. But the spider web couldn’t be removed. Luckily the spider web was empty, can you imagine how it would be if there were a spider on the web? Yuck! Ariana hates spiders.

With no one could help her remove the spider web on her head she continued washing the dishes. No more than one minute she was washing, there was someone knocked the door, Knock! Knock! Ariana was confused, how can she open the door with the soap on her hands and the spider web on her hair. But someone at the door didn’t want to know what trouble she was in, he wanted the door to be opened as he kept knocking it. Knock! Knock! Knock! Then Ariana yelled to the person at the door, she asked him to come in because the door was unlocked. It was Damien who brought some Jell-O and bread from her mother who lived near the river. Damien was shocked when she saw Ariana, then he removed the spider web from Ariana’s hair and helped her finishing the dishes. She said thank you to Damien and she gave him the honey she’s got the other day from the wood as the change for the Jell-O and the bread.

Damien told Arina what makes he came, besides her mother’s order to give the jell-o and the bread to Ariana. He said that the man who sells meat at the market told him that he saw a golden deer inside the forest. He asked her to go to the forest with him, looking for the golden deer. Ariana agreed, since she loves to hunt. She brought her bow and arrow and Damien brought the sword he got from his father.

The sun almost totally set when they got to the heart of the forest, then suddenly Ariana saw something glowing passed by the big oak tree very fast. The glowing creature, I mean what things could move fast on the forest if it’s not a live creature, right? It’s suddenly gone to the bush behind the big oak tree. Ariana told Damien that she saw a glowing creature near the big oak tree. Damien run to the direction that Ariana pointed. And there it is! Damien saw it! The golden deer was drinking at the edge of the lake behind the bush. It was glowing very bright and reflected perfectly by the lake since the sky and the forest already dark. It was very strangely beautiful.

The golden deer was on the other side of the lake when Ariana took her arrow and ready to shoot it with her bow. But Damien stopped her; he said that it’s better if they catch the deer alive. The deer saw them and it run away to the deep forest. After lost the sight of their prey, they sat under the big oak tree and made a plan to catch the golden deer alive. After argued so many times, they decided to make a trap near the lake, in hope that the golden deer will come back to the lake.

It was very dark in the forest and very cold. Ariana covered her body with her long hair to make her warm when Damien started to fall asleep while waiting the golden deer to get into their trap. Actually, Ariana was afraid of dark. She was afraid that something bad will happen to her when she couldn’t see anything. The forest was very very quite that night, there just the owl Hoo-ing from far, Hoo..Hoo..Hoo…

It almost dawn when suddenly something jumped over Ariana, it was the golden deer that didn’t see Ariana was lying there. AAAAAHHHH!!! Ariana was shocked, she jumped and her hair was everywhere on the ground while she start to running around on her feet. Then suddenly SHRIEEK!! The golden dear fell on the ground, entangled by Ariana’s hair. Damien heard the noise, woke up and realize that something was going on. Damien saw Ariana was running like crazy in her shock and the golden dear hopelessly trapped by Ariana’s hair. Damien shoots a sleeping drug towards the golden deer, and in no time it stopped moving, the golden deer fell asleep. Damien stopped Ariana and told her that everything’s okay. Still in half shocked, Ariana looked at the golden deer and sigh. Confused but happy that they caught the golden deer.

They planned to give the golden deer to the king, so they could get some gold in return. But when Ariana looked at that glowing body with beautiful legs and horns, she felt sorry for the golden deer. And she could not imagine if it has to be caged in the castle for the rest of its life, separate away from its home and maybe its family. Ariana told Damien that she wanted to set the golden deer free, every creature had a right to live free like the others. No matter how strange or different it was.

Damien was in doubt to set the golden deer back free since it was very hard to catch, but then he agreed. They put the sleeping golden deer under the big oak tree and they leave, out from the forest back to their home. They didn’t have the golden deer, but they know that a beautiful creature lives well at the heart of the forest.
